Skeele, Pioneer Onondaga Builder, is Dead / Irving D. Skeele died yesterday morning at his home, 233 Delray Ave. Mr. Skeele was one of the pioneer builders of Onondaga County. He was 80 years old. / Born in Spafford, the son of Duane and Abbie Conine Skeele, he and his father were early home builders, much of their construction having been in the Fabius section of the county, where he spent most of his early life. / Mr. Skeele and his father designed and built homes and buildings in an era when they transported themselves and their mechanics to the lo action of the project and lived on the job until the work was completed. / Their building was in the days when all the material was cut from the standing timber on location, hewn into joists and boards, and made into windows, doors, shingles and flooring. / One of his sons, Carl. H. Skeele, is carrying on in the family tradition and is a builder of homes in the Syracuse area. / Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Anna Rawley Skeele; a daughter, Mrs. Edna Mae Abbey of Cicero, four sons, Col. Winslow Skeele of De Ruyter, Duane of Fabius, Carl of Syacuse, and Robert Skeele of Staten Island; a brother-in-law, Melvin Blazier of Chittenango, and 14 grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the home. / Burial will be in the Fabius Cemetery, Rev. Merle Tebo, former pastor of Apulia methodist church, officiating."

Skeele 82, widow of Irving Duane Skeele, a prominent Syracuse builder, died yesterday in Cicero after a long illness. / Surviving are four sons, Charles Winslow Skeele of De Ruyter; H. Duane Skeele of Fabius; Carl H. Steele of Syracuse and I. Robert Skeele of Staten Island; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Abbey of Cicero; 18 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Mary Bailey, Miss Alice Rowley and Miss Jennie Rowley, all of Syracuse; a brother, Daniel Rowley of Syracuse.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Hall Funeral Home in LaFayette. Internment will be in Fabius Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home."

Mrs. Anna R. Skeele, 82, widow of Irving Skeele, died in Cicero Saturday after a long illness.
Services were held Monday afternoon at the Hall Funeral Home, with interment in Fabius Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. Skeele is survived by four sons, Winslow Skeele of DeRuyter, Duane Skeele of Fabius, Carl Skeele of Syracuse and Robert Skeele of Staten Island; one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Abbey, Cicero; 18 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Bailey, Miss Alice Rowley and Miss Jennie Rowley, all of Syracuse, and one brother, Daniel Rowley, Syracuse."
