N29. Tully Times (NY), (newspaper) digital scans published on the internet at fultonhistory.com, 1902 Feb. 1. "Death of J. H. Rowley
John H. Rowley, w(?), who resides about three miles east of Tully village, in the town of Truxton, died very suddenly at his home on Tuesday last. Mr. Rowley appeared to be as well as usual on Tuesday. About 9 a.m. on that day he went to his barn to attend to some work. His sister, Mrs. Warren Negus, who was passing the bar at about 11:00 o'clock, saw the door open and stepped in. She was horrified to find her brother lying on the floor, apparently lifeless. She hastened to the house and informed Mrs. Rowley and her daughters, who at once dispatched a messenger for Dr. W. H. Dwinelle, of Tully, and for his son-in-law, Wm. McEvers, who resides a short distance from the home of Mr. Rowley.
Mr. Dwinelle found that Mr. Rowley had been dead several hours, he having apparently died suddenly. The cause of death was thought to be apoplexy.
The deceased was well known and respected. He owned a large farm in the northern part of the town of Truxton, on which he had lived for many years. He was an industrious man, a kind husband and father, a loyal citizen and obliging neighbor. He leaves, beside a wife, five children, one son, Grover, who resides at home, and four daughters, Mrs. Wm. McEvers, of Apulia; Miss Nora Rowley, of Syracuse; Miss Mable and Miss Olive Rowley, who reside at home.
The funeral took place on Thursday. Internment in Apulia cemetery."
