"James William Shipman, died May 26th at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Baker on Butternut Street. He was born in Warsaw, November 30, 1850, the son of Stephen and Mary Shipman. In 1875 he married Amy Leffingwell who with one daughter, Mrs. William Baker, and three grandchildren survive.
Mr. Shipman was buried in Maple Grove Cemetery at Gainesville, Rev. Howard Green of First Baptist church officiated."

James William Shipmen (sic), 74 years of age, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs.William H. Baker of Warsaw, last Tuesday evening. Mr. Shipman was born in Warsaw, the son of Steven and Mary Shipman. On July 17, 1875, he married Miss Amy Leffingwell of Gainesville.
He leaves a wife, a daughter, Mrs. W. H. Baker, and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held from tyhe Warsaw Baptist Church. Burial was made in Maple Grove cemetery, Gainesville."

"The body of Mrs. Amy Shipman, widow of William Shipman, was brought here to Gainesville to be put in the vault in Maple Grove cemetery. She leaves three granddaughters and a sister in Rochester.
James William Shipman was wed to Amy Leffingwell on July 17, 1875."

Mrs. Shipman spent her girlhood days in this vicinity and is well known by the older people, besides having relatives here."

Shipman died at the Woman Relief Corps home at Oxford, N.Y. on Wednesday, December 15th. Amy Leffingwell was born in Gainseville, March 2, 1854, the daughter of John and Hulda Knapp Leffingwell. On July 17, 1873 she married William Shipman in Warsaw. He died in May 1926. Surviving are three grandchildren Letha, Iola and Luella Baker of Warsaw and three sisters, Mrs. Lawrence Powers of Warsaw, Mrs. M. H. Burns of Rochester and Mrs. Glenn Lathrop of Pike. She was a member of the Baptist Church, the Warsaw W.C.T.U, Woman's Relief Corps and Warsaw Grange.
The funeral was held at the Baptist church on Saturday, Dec. 19th with the Rev. Howard M. Green officiating. She was taken to Maple Grove cemetery and placed in the vault until weather permits her burial."
