Rollin J. Cook
(From Keene, N.H. Sentinel)
Rollin J. Cook, a resident of this town for nineteen years, passed away Tuesday night, Feb. 17th, at the hospital in Westmoreland, where he had been taken the Wednesday before, suffering from pneumonia. Mr. Cook had been sick about ten days. Owing to the scarcity of nurses and the bad roads for a doctor to cover, it was decided to move him to Westmoreland, where everything possible was done to relieve him, but owing to a weak heart and other complications which developed, he failed to rally.
Mr. Cook was born in Ticonderoga, N.Y, Dec. 4, 1858. He married in Crown Point, N.Y, March 24, 1890, Miss Gertrude B. Rowley. Mr. and Mrs. Cook came to this town in the spring of 1901 and bought the William Bennett farm, so called, of Mr. Morrison, which overlooks Spofford Lake. They have made many friends since coming to New Hampshire and Mr. Cook is a man who will be sorely missed. He was very kind hearted, always ready to do a kind act for a neighbor or friend. This is especially true at the lake, where he had many friends among the summer people, being always ready to assist them in every way possible.
He leaves besides his wife, a brother, Carlton Cook, and a sister, Mrs. Harma French, both of Ticonderoga, N.Y."
