Mr. Cannon was open hearth supervisor for the United Engineering and Foundry Co. for 42 years and retired in 1968 due to ill health.
Surviving are his wife, Anna Scott Cannon, four sons, Martin Jr. in Cincinnati, Douglas of San Mateo, Calif. David of Boston and Charles at home; two daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Betty Ann) Stover of Salma(Salina?), Pa, and Kathy at home; and two sisters.
The body was taken to the Brady Funeral Home in Vandergrift. Arrangements will be announced."

Anna (Scott) Cannon, 97, of Reston, Va, formerly of Vandergrift, died Saturday, July 19, 2008, in INOVA Cameron Glen, Reston. She was born May 1, 1911, in Freeport, daughter of the late Clyde and Liverne (Burtner) Scott. Anna lived in Vandergrift most of her life before moving to Reston. She was a homemaker and had also worked as a licensed practical nurse for five years at Pittsburgh Hospital, retiring in 1976. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Thomas Cannon; daughter, Elizabeth Stover; two sisters, Olga Gagen and Helen Goodbread; and brother, Robert Scott. Anna is survived by her children, David (Alexandra) Cannon, of Reston, Martin (Katherine) Cannon, of Federal Way, Wash, Douglas (Beverly) Cannon, of Concerd Township, Ohio, Kathleen (Fred) Mathis, of Holland, Mich, and Charles D. Cannon, of Arlington, Texas; sister, Inga Scott, of Johnstown; and brother, Edward Scott of, Rome, N.Y. Visitation and services will be private with Father Leo Rothrauff OSB. Burial will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Vandergrift. Funeral arrangements entrusted to BRADY-CURRAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES INC, 429 Franklin Ave, Vandergrift."www.
