Stamp received word that his step-father, Nicholas Burns of Rochester, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frances Regan, formerly Clara Burns, on Thursday, January 30. He leaves besides Mr. Stamp two sons, Walter of Newark and Louis A. of Coldwater, one brother, John of Rochester; one sister, Mary Nelson of Rochester; and several grandchildren. Funeral Services took place on Monday, Feb. 3."

Funeral services for Nicholas Burns, for 27(?) years engineer for the Brighton Cold Storage Company, were conducted yesterday in St. Monica's Church after a prayer service at the home of his daughter Mrs. Fran_ Reagan, 878 Seward Street. Mr. Burns died Thursday Jan. 29 1938.
Bearers yesterday were grandsons. They were Wallace Harold, Robert and Richard Burns and Alton(?) Halloway and Richard Stamp."

Road Superintendent W. J. Stamp has received word Tuesday of the death of his mother, Mrs. Nicholas Burns, 69, of Rochester. She had been a patient in a hospital several weeks. Surviving are her husband, three sons, William J. Stamp of Gainesville, and Lewis Burns and Walter Burns of Rochester, and a daughter. Mrs. Clara Regan, Rochester. Services will be held in Rochester Saturday morning."

W. J. Stamp, town superintendent of highways, received word Tuesday of the death of his mother, Mrs. Etta Leffingwell Barrus (sic) in the General hospital in Rochester where she had been ill for several weeks but at last her death result from pneumonia. She was the daughter of the late Huldah and John Leffingwell and was born in this town 69 years ago. In early life she married William Stamp of this village who has been dead many years. To them were born two children. of these W. J. Stamp survives. Later in life she married Nicholas Burns of Rochester who survives, with one daughter, Mrs. Clara Ragan and two sons Walter and Louis Burns all of Rochester; and two sisters, Mrs. Francis Powers of Warsaw and Mrs. Glenn Lathrop of Pike, to mourn her loss. The funeral services and burial were held in Rochester on Saturday."
