He was born April 24, 1901, in the town of Watertown, on a farm on the Adams Ridge Road, son of Allen C. and Vannie C. Mantle Blanchard. The family came to this city, from Ellisburg five years ago. They had lived in that village six years. ...He attended All Souls Universalist church.
