"Simeon Rockwell. / Simeon Rockwell, aged 36 years, a well known farmer of South Rutland, died early this morning following a long illness. Death was due to old age. / Mr. Rockwell was born in this county and went to Ireland when a young man. When the country was laid out into states he worked with the surveyors, later returning to this country. He was for some time located at Burreilles(sp.?), later going to Middle Road and about 40 years ago purchasing the farm on which he died.
He was married when a young man to Miss Caroline Barlow, who died about a year ago. / There survive no near relatives, although there are several nieces and nephews in the west. / The funeral will be held from his late home Thursday afternoon at 2, Rev. Mr. Lattimore of the Middle Road Congregational Church officiating. The remains will be interred in Brookside cemetery."
