"Egbert Gors died in Dickson, Tennessee, where he had lived since 1891, recently, his age being 73 years. He was born in Ossian, learned the harness maker's trade in John Hood's shop in this village in 1857-61, served in the 136th N.Y.V. in the civil war, married Sarah Babcock of Doty's Corners and lived in Canaseraga for several years. Wm. Brown the harness maker says that Mr. Gors was one of the most conscientious of men, that he never knew him to do a dishonorable act in his life, and Mr. Brown knows, as he worked with Mr. Gors and lived in his family a number of years. His wife survives."

She was the widow of Egbert Gorse who conducted a harness shop and livery business at Canaseraga and who died in Dickson several years ago to which place the family had moved."
