He was found Unconscious in Bed and Never Regained His Senses - Born on Farm Where He Died and Where He Spent All His Life - Nearly 74 Years Old.
Edgar Pixley, a lifelong resident of Bethany, died at his home, three miles south of East Bethany, at 6 o'clock last evening. He was stricken with apoplexy on Monday night, being found in an unconscious condition yesterday morning, and he never regained his senses.
Mr. Pixley was born on May 20, 1827, on the farm which was settled by his father, Elisha Pixley, and upon which he spent all his life. He survived his wide about a year, Mrs. Pixley having died on May 7, 1900. Mr. Pixley leaves one son, Sheriff Charles B. Pixley of Batavia; one daughter, Mrs. Charles B. Annabal of Bethany; three brothers, Lucius Pixley of Darien, George Pixley of Pavilion and Milo Pixley of Bradford, Pa, and one sister, Mrs. D. B. Merritt of Linden. He was a good citizen and hosts of friends will mourn his death.
The funeral will be held from the house at 2 p.m. on Friday."

Pixley, sheriff of Genesee county."
