Ten Eyck, former sheriff of Onondaga county and New York state assembly man, died yesterday afternoon at his home 418 Euclid ave. He was 79 years old and had been ill six weeks. / Born Jan. 23, 1864, in Davenport, Delaware county, Mr. Ten Eyck moved to Syracuse in 1910. He had served as Fabius town supervisor for three terms, 1894, 1895 and 1896, and as state assemblyman from the Fabius district in 1897, 1898 and 1899. / From 1914 to 1918 he was superintendent of the New York state fair, which position he held until he was elected Onondaga county sheriff in the fall of 1918./ He served as sheriff until 1921. / On October 18, 1887, he married Mary E. Rowley of Fabius, who died April 9, 1917. They had five children, all of whom survive. They are Henry A. Ten Eyck of Fabius, S. Gerald Ten Eyck of Syracuse, Mrs. Charles P. Dunbar of Homer and Mrs. F. Hobart Lent of Katonah. / On April 30, 1925, he married Grace Persse of Syracuse, who also survives him. / Besides his wife and children, Mr. Ten Eyck is survived by two sisters, Mrs. J. Melville Hebbard of Davenport and Miss Clara A. Ten Eyck of Syracuse; two brothers George H. Ten Eyck of Syracuse and Seth A. Ten Eyck of Ononeonta; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. / Mr. Ten Eyck was a charter member of Konosioni lodge, F&AM, of Syracuse and a member of the Manlius Masonic Chapter. He was a member of the Syracuse Elks, as well as past president and charter member of the Syracuse Escort club. He was a Presbyterian. Private funeral services will be conducted at this home tomorrow, with burial in Fabius. friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today."

Superintendent of State Fair, Served 3 Terms in State Assembly
Private funeral services for Edward G. Ten Eyck, former sheriff of Onondaga County and long an outstanding figure in Republican circles, will be conducted at his home 418 Euclid Avenue, Wednesday. Burial will be in Fabius.
Mr. Ten Eyck died yesterday afternoon at his home after an illness of six weeks. He was a native of Davenport, Delaware County, and came to Syracuse in 1910. He taught school in Fabius for some time.
Sheriff Ten Eyck served three terms as Fabius town supervisor in 1894, 1895 and 1896, and was State Assemblyman from the Fabius district in 1897, 1898 and 1899.
He served from 1914 to 1918 he was superintendent of the New York state fair, and in the fall of 1918 was elected sheriff of Onondaga County, serving until 1921.
Mr. Ten Eyck married Mary E. Rowley of Fabius October 19, 1887, who died April 9, 1917. On April 30, 1925, he married Grace Persse of Syracuse, who survives.
Surviving besides Mrs. Ten Eyck are two sons and three daughters by his first wife, Henry A. Ten Eyck of Fabius, S. Gerald Ten Eyck of Syracuse, Mrs. George N. Crouse of Syracuse, Mrs. Charles P. Dunbar of Homer and Mrs. F. Hobart Lent of Katonah; two sisters, Mrs. J. Melville Hebbard of Davenport and Miss Clara A. Ten Eyck of Syracuse; two brothers George H. Ten Eyck of Syracuse and Seth A. Ten Eyck of Ononeonta; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Active in fraternal organizations, Mr. Ten Eyck was a charter member of Konosioni Lodge, F&AM, of Syracuse and a member of the Manlius Masonic chapter. He was a member of the Syracuse Elks and former president of the Syracuse Escort club."

"The Syracuse Post Standard of Tuesday morning contained a notice of the death in Syracuse, of Mrs. Edward G. Ten Eyck , mother of Miss Ethel Ten Eyck, teacher of physical training in Homer academy since last fall. The funeral was held yesterday from the home, No. 160 West Kennedy street.
The Post Standard says that Mrs. TenEyck came to Syracuse from Fabius in 1910. Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, Henry A. and S. Gerald Ten Eyck; three daughters, Janette C, Ethel A. and Mary E. Ten Eyck. Mrs. Ten Eyck had been seriously ill for some time.
