He was born April 14, 1939, in Wichita, the son of Frank F. Rowley Sr. and Thelma Young. He moved to Valley Center in 1943, where he attended school until 1953 when he transferred to Sedgwick, graduating in 1957. He attended Friends University for two years, where he played varsity football. He married Marilyn Mercer on Aug. 27, 1960. She survives. They made their home in the Valley Center area for 45 years. He enjoyed poetry, school board, agricultural and technological advancements, teaching Sunday school, motor sports, "real people" and his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Rowley Sr.
Other survivors include his children and their spouses, Fran and David Wilson of Fort Gibson, Okla, Deborah and John Stephan of Fishers, Ind, Meredith and Jerod Holdaway of Valley Center, Andrea Rowley of Lenexa, Ryan and Michele Rowley of Sedgwick; mother, Thelma Rowley of Valley Center; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Margie Rowley of Valley Center; and grandchildren, Adam, Eric, Lydia, Luke Wilson, Christopher Pendergraft, Jonathan, Justin, Jessica, Cooper Holdaway, Ben, Derek, Kalin Rowley.
A memorial has been established, to further the interests of those in entrepreneurship, with the Frank F. Rowley Jr. Memorial Fund in care of Baker Funeral Home, Box 242, Valley Center 67147. ."
