David Rowley, 65, of Sarver, Buffalo Township, passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, in UPMC St. Margaret, Aspinwall. He was born Feb. 14, 1946, in Natrona Heights, to the late Robert H. Rowley and Helen (Sober) Rowley Pesci. David was a welder/fitter at Nadine Corporation in Verona for 22 years. Prior to working for Nadine, he was a self-employed tractor trailer driver. He worked for the Boilermakers' and in various fab shops in the area. In his youth, he was an ice hockey player and coached preschool and grade school ice hockey beginners. He enjoyed trips to the family's lodge in Canada for fishing. A lifelong, avid boater, he and his wife, Carol, traveled the rivers for 20 years in their houseboat, The Carol Louise II. They shared their home and boat with two black cats, Bert and Ernie. Mr. Rowley is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Carol (Walker) Rowley; his sister, Janet (Richard) Kaminski, of Freeport; and two nephews, Roger (Wendy) Welsh, of Butler, and Ian Kaminski, of Atlanta, Ga; also several cousins. Friends and family may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the DENNIS J. DAUGHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 324 Fourth St, Freeport, 724-295-3100. Funeral ceremonies will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. The Rev. Edd H. Myers will officiate. Committal services and burial will follow in Freeport Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley, 533 Linden Ave, New Kensington, PA 15068."
