"Chuck" Ross, 49, of Natrona Heights, formerly of Buffalo Township, died Sunday, March 16, 2008, while in the company of family members at Allegheny Valley Hospital. Mr. Ross was born Dec. 29, 1958, in Natrona Heights, a son of Charles I. and Carolyn (Rowley) Ross of Buffalo Township. He Graduated from Freeport High School in 1976 and attended Butler County Community College with studies in park management. Chuck was a member of Freeport United Methodist Church. He was employed as a production supervisor at Saxonburg Ceramics in Saxonburg for 30 years before the plant closed. He was an avid hunter in rifle, muzzleloader and archery. He made his own arrows and recurve bows. He also did his own butchering and some taxidermy. He loved spending time at his camp in Mundorf, but the thing he enjoyed most of all was spending time with his friends and family. He is survived by his companion of nine years, Sharon Miksich, of Brockway; two sisters, Linda, wife of James Fergus, of South Buffalo Township and Joni, wife of Chuck Lauffer, of South Buffalo Township. He is also survived by five nieces; nephew; and numerous aunts and uncles. Chuck is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Howard and Margaret (Henry) Ross; and maternal grandparents, Richard and Martha (Beale) Rowley. Family and friends are being received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in REDMOND FUNERAL HOME INC, 524 High St, Freeport. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Freeport United Methodist Church, Freeport, with the Rev. Edd Myers officiating. Burial will be in the Freeport Cemetery Freeport.
