Mr. Rowley was a retired foreman of Alpha Portland Cement Co. He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. Vernon and Joan (Reeves), wife of 54 years, who died in 2004, were life residents of Fabius and Cuyler. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Rowley in 1982. He is survived by eight children, Vernon Jr. (Nancy) of Cuyler, Larry (Judy) of Black River, Sandra Eaton of Tully, Linda Partridge (Donald) of Venice Center, Deborah of Owego, Janice Brustein (Steven) of N. Syracuse, Kelley Jo Knapp (Tim) of Fabius and Douglas (Lynn) of Otisco; 26 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Glenn Foster (Betty) of Tully; companion, Sally Van Debogart of Manlius; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Hartwell Funeral Home, 11 Clinton St, Tully on Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. with a service of remembrance to follow at 5 p.m. Private interment at a later date in Fabius Evergreen Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY. Hartwell Funeral Home Tully, NY."
