New York. (UP) Burns Mantle, 75, one of the best-known American drama critics, died today in Mary Immaculate Hospital (Jamaica, Queens) of Cancer.
Mantle, known as the elder statesman of the theater, had been ill since Christmas day. He was taken to the hospital Saturday morning, and died at 11:45 A.M. today. His home was at 44 Season-good Road, Forest Hills, Queens."
