"Miss Clara J. Hills was born October 7th, 1872, and died at her home one mile south of Corfu, Monday January 18, 1904 at 8:45 o'clock in the evening. When only nine years of age Miss Hills was baptized and united with the North Darien baptist church of which she has always been a faithful and consistent member. The funeral which was well attended was held from the home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Geo. Winegar, Pastor of the North Darien church, assisted by the Rev. A. L. Partridge of the Corfu Universalist officiating.
Mr. Winegard spoke touchingly of the beautiful Christian character of the deceased and of the deep interest she manifested in the welfare of the church of her choice. A quartette composed of Mrs. Leroy Adams, Miss Jessie Turrell, Rev. A. L. Partridge and Cyrus carrier, rendered appropriate music. She leaves to mourn her loss her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Byron Hills, one sister, Miss Nellie and her brother Roy Hills. Interment was at Corfu cemetery."
