ADAMS - Mrs. Florence M. Hazelwood, 73, Adams Center, widow of Arlys Hazelwood, died at 6:09 this morning at the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown, where she had been admitted Wednesday.
The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Piddock Funeral Home with Rev. James McEathron, First Baptist Church, Adams Center, officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 4:30 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Piddock Funeral Home.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Jean Jarvis, Dexter, Ont, Mrs. Mary Stone, Watertown, and Mrs. Margaret Pennock, Hermon; three sisters, Mrs. Laura Collins, and Mrs. Dorothy Richmond, Adams Center and Mrs. Vypha Stedman, Rodman, 11 grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A son, James, died Nov. 2, 1958. Three brothers before her, Harry Mantle, Frank B. Mantle, in May 1965, in Ramona, Calif. at the age of 57 and Elwyn N, Oct. 16, 1972 in Watertown at the age of 67.
Born June 26, 1903, in the Town of Rodman, a daughter of William and Florence Dillon Mantle, she married Arlys Hazelwood in Adams in 1934 with Rev. C. B. Wallace, Methodist minister, officiating. Mr. Hazelwood died April 21, 1945, at the age of 35 years in an automobile accident.
Mrs. Hazelwood had worked about 15 years as a stock clerk at F. W. Woolworth."
