AMASA HILLS.
Mr. Amasa Hills died of heart disease on Saturday, Nov. 14, at his in North Brookfield. For a long time he has been in feeble health and for the last few weeks has been nearly blind and unable to leave his room. Mr. Hills was one of our oldest inhabitants, having always resided at his late home, two and one-half miles south of this village. He was a man highly respected by his neighbors and in his death the community experiences a loss which will be greatly felt. He reached the advanced aged of seventy-four years and nine months. He was one of a family of fourteen children, the only one who remained in the neighborhood in which he was born. The other children settled in different portions of the country, Michigan, Utah, California and other places. Mr. Hills' prevailing characteristic might be described by the phrase, "peace and good will towards all." He was a member of the M.E. church of Eat Hamilton, was an earnest Christian and died firm in his belief in the Saviour and in the reality of the after(.) He leaves a widow and two children, Mr. H. I Hills of Hamilton, and Mrs. R. Bennett of North Brookfield, to mourn the loss of a devoted husband and kind father. His funeral was held at his late home on Monday and he was buried in North Brookfield cemetery."
