"Events at Attica... The body of V. C. Taylor, who has been missing since Friday, was found in Tonawanda creek at three o'clock this afternoon. The body was found a quarter of a mile from his residence, in a standing position. Taylor was village constable, aged seventy of intemperate habits. It is the prevailing opinion that he was killed by tramps and his body thrown into the creek."
