Elizabeth was a long time genealogist trained in the old school and made many genealogy trips to libraries, cemeteries, court houses, etc. She transitioned well to the internet and her research which she painstakingly documented was invaluable in many works including Descendants of Moses Hoagland [1774-1850].
She is truly missed."

Obit: "Hoagland, Elizabeth Alice (Covington), 92, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2009. She was born in Joplin, Missouri to Clifford Covington and Florence (Pratt) Covington. She graduated from St. Mary's Cathedral High School and University of Wichita with a business degree. She is preceded in death by her husband Fred Homer Hoagland on June 7, 2009; granddaughter Amy Burghart; son-in-law Brian Bucher; her parents and sisters Helen and Bernice. She leaves 3 children Clifford and Winifred Hoagland of Austin, TX, Alice Burghart of Marble Falls, TX, Janet and Ron Fuller of Lancaster, CA; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren. Memorial Mass 9 a.m, Tuesday, Oct. 13, at Catholic Care Center, Bel Aire. Visitation 6-8 p.m, Tuesday, Oct. 13, at Baker Funeral Home, Valley Center. Service 11 a.m, Wednesday, Oct. 14, Sunnyside Cemetery, Sun City, Ks. Memorials to Catholic Care Center, Bel Aire, 67226. ."
