"Mrs. Blanch Negus Dies.
"Mrs. Blanch Negus, 43, died Tuesday morning at the Homeopathic hospital. Mrs. Negus is survived by two daughters, Miss Eva and Miss Ina Negus; two sons, Hugh and Glenn Negus of this city, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orsen Rowley and a brother, Giles Rowley of Fabius. The funeral will be at 3332 South Salina street Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock. The body will be taken to Fabius for burial."

"George Nellis Crouse, 67, Civic Leader, Dies at Home George Nellis Crouse, first vice-president and director of Benedict Manufacturing Co., East Syracuse, and long a leader in Syracuse social and civic circles, died at his home, 185 Robineau rd., at 1:05 p.m. yesterday. In failing health several years, he had been confined to his home a week.
Mr. Crouse, 67, was born Oct. 15, 1877, and had been a Syracuse resident all his life.
His father was the late Col. George N. Crouse, who established the firm of G. N. Crouse & Co., wholesale grocers, and his mother was the former Miss Florence J. Marlette.
Graduated from Syracuse high school in 1894, the son won a diploma from Phillips academy, Andover, Mass., in 1896 and then entered Yale university. At Yale, he was active in publications and athletic affairs and established a milewalk record that still stands. He won a bachelor of philosophy degree from Yale's Sheffield Scientific school in 1901, later attended Yale Medical school, where he was a member of Nu Sigma Nu and took courses in Yale Law school.
SERVED IN GUARD
In 1902 and 1903, Mr. Crouse served in the New Haven Gray of the Connecticut national guard, and during world war 1 he was a "four-minute speaker."
In July, 1903, he bought out C. E. Crouse & Co., wholesale grocers.
About that time, he was a leader in organization of the Mystique Krewe of Ka-Noo-no, established in an effort to save the state fair for Syracuse.
Mr. Crouse entered executive affairs of the Benedict company in those years.
He also served as first vice-president of Crouse Grocery Co., wholesalers in Syracuse and Utica.
A former parks commissioner here, he was for three terms president of the common council.
He was a past president of the Syracuse Republican Escort club and gave much effort to GOP activity.
An early aviation enthusiast, Mr. Crouse made three trans-Atlantic flights in the Graf Zeppelin and became an airplane pilot. In 1931, traveling on an airliner with 68 passengers aboard, he took controls north of Porto Rico on the way to Miami."

"Miss Rowley Dies at 85; Ex-Teacher Miss Jennie Rowley, 85, of 316 Delaware St., a former school teacher in this area for many years, died yesterday in her home. / A resident of Tully for many years, Miss Rowley lived in Syracuse the last 27 years. She was a teacher at Fabius, Tully, Cortland and Oswego public school before retirement several years ago. / Miss Rowley was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and the New York State Retired Teachers Association. Surviving are a brother, Daniel Rowley, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Rowley Bailey and Miss Alice Rowley. / Services will be tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Hartwell Funeral Home, Tully, Elder O. A. C__da officiating. Burial will be in Tully Cemetery. / Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home."

"Miss Johnessia B. Rowley of Albany, a native and former resident of Tully, died yesterday.
Miss Rowley was employed as a senior clerk for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. in Albany.
She was a graduate of Tully High School.
Surviving are two brothers, George G. Rowley of Duanesburg and John H. Rowley of Eaugallie, Fla.; and a sister, Mrs. Mabel Brakefield of Chino, Calif.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hartwell Funeral Home, Tully, the Rev. William Cruikshank officiating. Burial will be in Tully Cemetery.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society."

"Janette Ten Eyck Crouse, 100, of 242 59th Ave S., St. Petersburg, Fla., died Monday at her home.
Mrs. Crouse was born in Fabius and lived most of her life in Syracuse before moving to Florida in 1975. She was a former mathematics and Latin teacher at public schools in Syracuse.
Mrs. Crouse was a 1913 graduate of Syracuse University, where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority.
She was a member of the Corinthian Foundation, National League of American Penwomen, Descendants of Mayflower, Daughters of American Revolution and the Society of New England Women. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Syracuse.
Her husband, George N. Crouse, died in 1945.
Surviving are a sister, Mary T. Lent of St. Petersburg; three nieces and five nephews.
There are no services or calling hours. Burial is in Oakwood Cemetery, Syracuse."
