"Edward G. TenEyck Weds Miss Persse
Ceremony Performed Quietly by Onondaga Valley Pastor.
Miss Grace W. Persse, 3415 Midland av., and Edward G. Ten Eyck, former sheriff of Onondaga County, were married at 11 a. m. Thursday by the Rev. James A. Cunningham, pastor of the Onondaga Valley Presbyterian Church. The marriage was performed with so little ostentation that few outside the bride's immediately family knew of it until late Thursday evening when telegrams to various friends made the announcement.
The few guests bidden to the nuptials agreed to make no announcement. These included Judge William L. Barnum and Manuel J. Soule, close friends of the bridegroom and associated with him during his service to the county as sheriff; Gerald Ten Eyck, son of the bridegroom, and Miss Matilda Persse, a sister of the bride. Mr. and Mrs. Ten Eyck left immediately after the ceremony for New York, wiring back the news of their wedding from their. They will go to Miami, Fla., for several weeks.
Rumor has been persistent for some time that the former sheriff and Miss Persse would wed. Members of both families, however, refused to confirm the report. Mr. Ten Eyck's first wife died about eight years ago. His daughter recently wed George M. Crouse, former president of the Common Council."
