Mr. and Mrs. C. Lynn Rowley of the West Lake Road, announce the engagement of their only daughter, Helen Elizabeth, to Philip Emerson Munson of Clinton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Munson, also of Clinton.
The wedding will take place Saturday, August 22, at the Rowley home.
Miss Rowley is a graduate of Jamestown High School, class of 1930, and of Cornell University in '34. She is a home economics instructor in the Clinton Central School. Mr. Munson is employed bu the government in Rome."

"Miss Helen Elizabeth Rowley, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Lynn Rowley, became the bride of Philip Emerson Munson, of Clinton, Ny, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Munson, also of Clinton, at a beautiful summer wedding this afternoon at 2:30 P.M. at the Rowley home on the West Lake Road, Cheney's Point. Rev. Dr. John E. Roberts, retired Methodist minister in charge of the the Methodist House at Chautauqua, performed the ceremony in the presence of 40 guests.
Wedding music was played at the piano by Howard Zattervall, musical director of the First Baptist Church... The bride, given in marriage by her father, was lovely in her Cuban rose velvet wedding gown, fashioned with draped bodice, full three-quarter length sleeves, draped V neckline, and wide street length skirt. She wore a velvet turban to match her gown, and a diamond and pearl necklace belonging to her mother, the late Elizabeth Moss Rowley...
A reception and wedding luncheon followed for forty guests on the spacious lawn of the Rowley residence. The bride's table was decorated with rose and iris gladioli, and a tiered wedding cake surrounded by lighted tapers in crystal holders and flowers. Mrs. Ernestine Rowley Milks, the bride's aunt, served as mistress of ceremonies.
Mr. Munson and his bride left for an Eastern wedding trip to be at home after Sept. 1, at 2 East Park Row, Clinton. The bride wore for traveling a blue wool suit with wine accessories.
The out-of-town guest list includes, Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Munson and Mr. and Mrs. A Jerome Schilling, Clinton; Mr. and Mrs. Ivers Wall, Derby; F.F. Osborn, Greenville, Pa,; Miss Irene Purcell, Cleveland; C. J. Thayer and family, Brocton; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Rublee, Ellington, Mr. and Mrs. George Fox, Conewango, and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Older, Little Valley.
Mrs. Munson is a graduate of the Jamestown High School and Cornell University, and is a teacher of home economics at the Clinton Central School, Clinton. Mr. Munson was graduated from Hamilton College, and has a government position at the Rome Army Air Depot.
The bride has been honored at bridal parties given by Mrs. Ernsetine Rowley Mikles, Mrs. Bertram Rublee, ,Mrs. C. J. Thayer of Brocton, Miss Louise Thayer, Miss May D. Anderson and her mother, Mrs. Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Leo J. Willsie and Miss Lola Tengwall.""
