Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Rowley are completing plans to host a rehearsal dinner at the Fireside Inn to compliment their son Gerald Rowley and his bride to be Lia Van Wijk, whose wedding takes place next Saturday at Trinity Presbyterian Church in North Hollywood.
Both Lia and Jerry are planning to attend graduate school at San Diego State College this September after having received their bachelor degrees from UCLA
Jerry has been working for Dyna-Therm Chemical Corp. in Burbank and Lia is with Valley Presbyterian Hospital.."

"250 Guests Attend Nuptials Uniting Rowley, Van Wijk
Lia Van Wijk became the bride of Gerald L. Rowley during a double ring ceremony performed by the Rev. Richard Adams at the Trinity Presbyterian Church in North Hollywood.
Immediately following the ceremony the couple greeted over 250 guests at the reception held at the church. They later departed on a honeymoon in the High Sierras.
Lia daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cornelis Van Wijk of Van Nuys, was gowned in a Chantilly lace dress adorned with pearls and sequins, styled with a Sabrina neckline and chapel train. A coronet of pearls confined her fingertip veil and she carried a cascade of white roses centered with a white orchid.
Maid of honor Lina Van der Tuin wore a full coral chiffon dress with a pale pink cummerbund. In similar dresses were bridesmaids Carol and Marlene Rowley, sisters of the bridegroom, and Belinda Van Wijk, niece of the bride. They wore pearl studded crowns with veils and carried pink roses with gladioli.
Dina Schmid served as flower girl. Aida Van Wijk, sister-in-law of the bride, was in charge of the guest book.
The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy H. Rowley of Van Nuys, chose Joel Shaper as best man with usher duties performed by William Ward, Donald Moore and Donald Anderson. A flute selection was presented by Mr. and Mrs. Fred Carrington and Dave Fairchild sang.
The new Mrs. Rowley was born in Amsterdam and lived in Haarlem, Holland, before moving to Van Nuys with her family in 1954. She was graduated from Van Nuys High School and UCLA.
Jerry was graduated from Van Nuys High School, attended Occidental College and received his degree from UCLA. He is a member of Alpha Chi Sigma chemistry professional fraternity. Both Lia and Jerry will continue graduate studies at San Diego State College in the fall. Out of town guests at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. William Emmeluth and Dr. and Mrs. Hervey Faris of Santa Barbara, Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Moore and family from Pasadena, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Jasper of Berkeley, and Dr. and Mrs. Ralph Turner from Pacific Palisades."

Wedding Bells will ring Dec. 29 at Bel Air Presbyterian Church for Marlene Ann Rowley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Harold Rowley of Van Nuys and John Charles Dean son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald M. Dean of Arcadia.
Marlene, who attended San Fernando Valley State College, was graduated from UC Santa Barbara, where she belonged to Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She is a teacher with the Los Angeles City School System.
Her parents have resided in Van Nuys for 20 years. Mrs. Rowley has been an active member of Prospector's Guild for 10 years and Mr. Rowley has been with General Motors for 34 years.
An honor graduate of UC at Santa Barbara, John is studying for his master's degree in electrical engineering at California at Institute of Technology in Pasadena."
