An interesting matrimonial event of the week was the wedding of Miss Lydia Holmes Sears and Robert Burns Mantle of Chicago. The affair was marked by its elegant simplicity. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Charles Marshall of St. Barnabas' church at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. Jasper Sears, who gave her daughter away in the presence of a few intimate friends. Attending the bride were her small niece, Ann Hill, who officiated as flower girl and Miss Mabel Wright, who served as honor maid. She wore a pretty white gown and carried a bouquet of bridesmaids' roses. The bride's wedding gown was a dainty confection of filmy white, and with it the conventional wedding veil was worn and roses carried. Frederick Birdsall of Chicago served as best man. A wedding supper followed the marriage service, after which Mr. and Mrs. Mantle left for Omaha en route to their home in Chicago. The bride has many friends in Denver who regret exceedingly that her marriage takes her away from Denver. Mr. Mantle has at various time been a member of the staff of the leading Denver papers, but is now the dramatic critic on the Inter-Ocean."
