Marshall Henry Rowley (1916 - 1998)
"Rowley — Marshall Rowley, 82, a 31 year resident of Stanley, NM, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 1998. He was born January 7, 1916 in McAlister, OK to Harry and Lou Eva Rowley. He married his first wife, June Carper on June 4, 1935. His second wife was Verlie Ahloy, whom have both preceded him in death. His current wife is Glynell Connelley, who he married March 15, 1995 in Stanley. Mr. Rowley graduated from Artesia High School. He worked for 30 years for Carper Drilling Company and retired in 1965 as vice-president and treasurer. He served as President and Director of New Mexico Oil and Gas Association, and was also a member of various other civic organizations in Artesia. During that time he was also a member of the Artesia Masonic Lodge #28 and served as Master of the Lodge in 1947. He was a 33rd degree member of the Scottish Rite and a member of the Royal Order of Jesters. He was also a current member of the Stanley Union Church. Survivors include his wife, Glynell of the home; one son, Phillip Rowley and his wife, Valerie of Vancouver, WA; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Marsha and Jerry Hickson of Austin, TX, Cindy Teague and her husband, Jerry of Stanley, and Judy Rowley of Tucson, AZ; one sister, Mildred Cranford and her husband, Leroy of Carlsbad, NM; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous step-children; step-grandchildren; and step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Louetta Eggleston; and a sister, Lucille Brittain. Mr. Rowley will lie in state at the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM, Thursday, December 10, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A service will be conducted Friday, December 11 at Stanley Union Church in Stanley at 10:30 a.m. with James Thompson officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Jeff Teague, Greg Hickson, Brad Hickson John Rowley, Bobb Rowley, and Ryan Rowley. Honorary pallbearers will be J.T. Turner, Bruce King, and Jim Smid. There will be a graveside masonic service Saturday, December 12, 10:30 a.m., at the Woodbine Cemetery in Artesia, NM."

Mildred Frances (Rowley) Cranford (1911 - 2003)
"CRANFORD — Mildred F. Cranford.
Services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 2, at Terpening & Son Mortuary in Artesia, N.M., for former longtime Artesia resident, Mildred Francis Rowley Cranford of Carlsbad, N.M. Interment will be at Woodbine Cemetery. Mrs. Cranford, 92, died Thursday, November 27, 2003 in Carlsbad. Mrs. Cranford was born June 21, 1911, in Stuart, Oklahoma, the daughter of Lou Eva (Marshall) Rowley and Harry Garfield Rowley. On June 18, l933 she was married to Leroy Dewey Cranford in Portales, N.M. Mildred and Leroy had lived in Portales, Artesia, Moriarty, Marble Falls, Texas, and Carlsbad. Together they owned and operated the bus station in Artesia for many years. Her husband preceded her in death on January 27, 1999. She was also preceded in death by a son, James Cranford, a sister, Lucile Britain, and by a brother, Marshall Rowley. Mildred was a member of Fox & Lake Church of Christ in Carlsbad. Survivors include daughter, Jan Gonzales and husband, Margo of Carlsbad; sons, Jerry Cranford and wife, Kay of San Angelo and Jon O. Cranford and wife, Sylvia of Granbury, Texas; eight grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Lakeview Christian Home, 1905 W. Pierce, Carlsbad, NM 88220."
