Sarah "Sadie" (George) Hepler (1880 - 1960)
"Mrs. Hepler's Funeral Set Thursday P.M.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Alcola Church near Hawthorn for Mrs. Sadie Hepler, 81, formerly of 21 Abbott St., who died at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the Franklin Hospital.
The widow of William Hepler, Mrs. Hepler had been ill a month and under treatment at the hospital since December 1.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
She was born in Armstrong County, had lived in New Bethlehem for many years and had been a resident of Oil City for the past five years.
Her husband, William Hepler, died in 1940 (?).
Mrs. Hepler is survived by one son, Albert Hepler of North Side Star Route, eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Carl H. Bartley (1928 - 2007)
"Carl H. Bartley, New Bethlehem
Carl H. Bartley, 79, of 1367 State Route 1010, New Bethlehem, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007, in the McKinley Health Center in Brookville. Born April 29, 1928, in Cambridge, Ohio, he was a son of Arthur and Estella Durnell Bartley. He was married April 21, 1967, to the former Jewel L. Hepler who survives. Mr. Bartley was a World War II veteran and served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed as a foreman for the R&P Coal Co. and also owned and operated Bartley Mining Co. from 1978 to 1992. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving in addition to his wife are one son, Carl H. Bartley II and his wife Arlene of New Bethlehem; five daughters, Donna Ash and her husband Bill of Arizona, Marcie L. Bartley of Florida, Tracey J. White of Punxsutawney, Tina L. Shirey and her husband Bryan of Hawthorn and Carla R. Witherel and her husband John of Pittsburgh; and nine grandchildren. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were a son, Alan Carl Bartley; a sister, Helen Bartley; two brothers, Tom Bartley and Arthur Bartley; and an infant grandson. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Alcola Trinity Cemetery in Redbank Township, Clarion County. The family suggests memorials may be made to the Clarion/Forest VNA Hospice, P.O Box 668, Knox, 16232."
