Mrs. Elizabeth (Bruce) Damron:
"She was born March 4, 1858 at the old Bruce Homestead at Deering, Ohio. The land of her grandfather, William Bruce in 1815 settled there. Her father, Amazah Bruce died when she was a small child. Her mother was Julia Paul Bruce kept the homeplace and reared her seven children, all of whom have passed on but three brothers, Wellington Bruce of Linneus, Mo., Amazah Bruce of Hanging Rock, O., and V. V. Bruce of Deering, O. She married J. S. Damron on Oct. 25, 1881 at the home by her cousin Rev. Jack Bruce. They had four children, the first, Amazah died in infancy; Mrs. C. E. Dickes, now of South Point, O., Miss Mellie of Huntington, W. Va., and Miss Nancy at home. They had two more children, Mrs. Bert Keenan and Miss Dorothy at home. She died April 23, 1919.
