FABIUS CANNING FACTORY, part of which remains as a section of the American Legion Bowling Alley, near Fabius Central School. Incorporated in 1900, its last owner was the late Edward H. Rowley whose widow still lives in the village. According to an historical brochure issue in Fabius, Rowley's peas gained a reputation for excellence. Beans also were canned. The business closed about 1924.
