George William Barres (1909 - 1995)


"George W. Barres
Loudonville — George W. Barres, 86, died Wednesday at Colonial Manor Health Care Center in Loudonville after a long illness.
He was born in Elyria on Feb. 15, 1909, to Jacob and Genevieve Molyneaux Barres.
He was a foreman at Western Automatic, leaving there to open his own business, Barres Garage, which he owned and operated for more than 25 years. He was an avid wooden boater, and he also enjoyed gardening and reading.
He was a resident of Tucson, Ariz., for 21 years, returning to this area three years ago.
He is survived by two sons, Robert G. Barres of Perrysville and Larry Barres of Elyria, five grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death on June 29, 1994, by his wife, Marylou Myers Barres, whom he married Nov. 18, 1971, and one son, Russell; and one grandchild.
There will be no calling hours. The family will hold private memorial services.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. The Denbow-Primm Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements."
