"Miles F. Balfour, 70, 59333 Yeatter Road, died Nov. 1, 1986, at his home, following a four-week illness.
He was born Nov. 17, 1915, in Bangor, a son of Grover and Leah J. (Kennedy) Balfour.
He had lived in Bangor from 1946-71 and in Colon for the past four years, coming from Tampa, Fla. He was self-employed as a public accountant in Bangor, owning and operating the Bangor Business Service. He was a member of the Riverview Methodist Church, Riverview, Fla., and a former member of the Simpson United Methodist Church, Bangor. He was a member of the Florida Coffinburg Masonic Lodge 309 in Hartford, DeWitt Clinton Consistory in Grand Rapids, and Saladin Shrine, Grand Rapids.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, Frederick Balfour, Newton, Mass., Michael Balfour, Bangor, and Patrick Balfour, Tuttle, Okla.; one daughter, Susan Edelstein, Raleigh, N.C.; mother, Leah Balfour, South Haven; 10 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and one sister, Shirley Styer, Colon.
Relatives and friends may call at the Schipper Funeral Home, Colon, where the family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today. Masonic Services are at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Charles McNary, Bangor, officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Colon.
Memorials may be directed to the South Haven Area Hospice, South Haven Community Hospital, or St. Joseph County Hospice Care, Inc., Sturgis."
