Rollin C. Smith (1835 - 1904)


"Rev. Rollin C. Smith, a pioneer minister of King county, died Thursday at his home at Orillia, aged 69 years. Mr. Smith moved to California in 1859 and from there to Olympia, Wash. In 1863 Mr. Smith went to Oregon, where he met Mrs. Elizabeth S. Hawkins, whom he married in 1865. After living at Kent and Grand Mound Mr. and Mrs. Smith moved, in 1869, to Orillia, where he resided until his death. A widow and six children survive him, Mrs. E. B. Swart of Seattle; Ida M. Smith of Sioux City, Ia.; Harriet Smith of Orillia; Mrs. C. W. Bushnell of Granite Falls, and Bertha Margaret Smith of Orillia."

Caroline "Carrie" (Roberson) Rowley (1846 - 1908)


"Mrs. Caroline Rowley
Mrs. Caroline Rowley, aged 64 years, wife of W. Rowley, died yesterday at 6:30 p.m. of hemorrhage of the brain. She had been ill for some time. Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Mrs. E. Williams, of Gig Harbor, and Mrs. May Anderson, of Bellingham; four sons, Harry, C.A., and Wesley, of Gig Harbor, and E.D. Rowley, of Prosser. The funeral services will be held at Gig Harbor tomorrow at 11 a.m."
