Answers Master's call on Late Thursday at Homer — Internment made in G.A.R. Cemetery.
The death of Mrs. Edith Leona Yeazel occurred at her home six and a half miles southeast of Homer, on last Thursday after a few days of intense suffering from influenza followed by pneumonia. She was born at Ogden, Illinois, July 30, 1886 and was at the time of her death, 32 years, 6 months and 14 days old. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. J. Wagner, her father still living in this vicinity, her mother having passed to the Great Beyond when Edith was a small child. She made her home with her father until her marriage to Seigel Yeazel, of Homer, March 5, 1906. To their happy wedded life four children were born, those surviving are: Glen, age 12; Nellie, age 10; Helen, age 2. Besides the children she leaves her husband, father, one brother, Charles Wagner, of St. Joseph; one half brother, Elmer Wagner, of Ogden; one half sister, Mrs. Clara Firebaugh, of Kell, Illinois; one step-sister, Clara Holly and one step-brother, Arlie Corray, of St. Joseph. Besides these relatives she leaves to mourn her death, a host of friends made by her loving disposition and kind ways. She was a loving wife and mother, always looking forward to the good of her home and family. Edith was always ready to administer to the needs of others. The funeral was held Saturday at the home at ten o'clock. Rev. Biddle of the M. E. Church of Homer, officiated. The pall-bearers were sons and sons-in-laws as follows: Rolla Yeazel, of Homer; Troy Yeazel, of Rockwell City, Iowa; Vander Hartley; Bowman Lester; Charles Hillard; Wm. Johnson. Internment was made in the G.A.R. Cemetery at Homer. The father, Mr. Wagner, and the half-sister Mrs. John Firebaugh, were unable to attend the funeral. Those from Ogden who attended besides the family were...[list of names]. The husband was not able to follow the remains of his wife to her last resting-place, owing to his own illness of influenza. A host of friends of Ogden and the surrounding community sympathize with the family in their loss of a loving mother, wife, daughter and sister."

"Mrs. C. Firebaugh Died Early Today
Had Influenza Some Time Ago and Tuberculosis Developed — Will be Buried Tomorrow — Former Ogden Resident.
Mrs. Clara Firebaugh, widow of John P. Firebaugh, died this morning at 7 o'clock at her home on the Richview road at what is known as the Galbrath farm. Death was due to tuberculosis. Mr. Firebaugh died January 24, 1920.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at First Christian church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Orville Hawkins, and burial will follow at Oakwood.
Mrs. Firebaugh suffered an attack of influenza a little more than a year ago and never recovered form the effects of the disease, tuberculosis developing. She and he husband were sick at the same time with influenza, and he died, and her condition was such that it was deemed best to not tell her of his death until three weeks later.
Mrs. Firebaugh was an excellent christian woman and held in the highest esteem and respect by all who knew her.
She was for many years a member of the Christian church but had not changed her membership from the Donoho Prairie, (Marion county) church to the Mr. Vernon church, but attended the church here when health permitted.
She had been unable to speak above a whisper the last nine months.
She is survived by the following named children: Oral, Carroll, Emil, Clinton, Dale and Kelly.
The children's ages range from 3 to 19 years.
Mrs. Firebaugh is survived by her father, Peter Wagner, and two brothers, Charles and Elmer Wagner, at Ogden, Illinois.
She was born at Ogden, but had lived in Mt. Vernon nineteen years.
She was 39 years old. — Mt. Vernon News of last week."

"Funeral Held at Ogden M.E. Church Friday
Funeral services were held at the Ogden M.E. Church on Friday, June 1, at two o' clock for Peter John Wagner, who died at the Lakeview hospital at Danville, May 30.
Peter John was born August 7, 1856, at Braunhelm, Ohio, died at Danville, Ill., May 30 1923, aged 66 years 9 months and 28 days.
He was the son of Berkhardt and Catherine (Hahn) Wagner, deceased.
He was one of four children, Charles, H., Henry Charles, and Sapie Wolehevier, all of them living in Vermilion county.
Mr. Wagner was united in marriage three times, namely: Anna Loeffler, in the spring of 1887, and to this union was born three children, Minnie Clara Firebaugh and Albert, they are all deceased.
He was married the second time to Marie Elizabeth Loeffler, September 1884. To the second marriage, three children were born, Edith Yeazel, Charles and John, of which Charles, of Ogden is living.
For his third wife, Mr. Wagner married Minnie Mary Corraw, September 13, 1984[sic]. There were two children, Roy and Elmer, of which Elmer, of Danville, is living. Besides his children he leaves two step children, Arley Corray and Clara Holley, fourteen grand children and a host of relatives and friends who mourn his loss.
He was a member of the German Reform church, and also a member of the Masonic order and the Eastern Star. He was a resident of Ogden township for forty-four years. Mr. Wagner had been a sufferer for quite a while, but was cheerful to the end. He was a man of high principles, of absolute integrity, of character, and has enjoyed the friendship and esteem of a large circle of friends."
