"Mortgage Sales
...WHEREAS ASA FREEMAN, of the town of Mooers, county of Clinton, by mortgage, dated the seventh day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eight [1808], for securing to the commissions for loaning money of the county of Clinton the payment of one hundred and two dollars, and the interest thereon, did grant, bargain, sell... a part of lot No. eighteen of four hundred and twenty acres of land granted by the State of New York, to certain Canadian & Nova Scotia refugees, lying in the town of Mooers, in the county of Clinton, and adjoining the lands of Timo. P. Rowley south, Daniel Rowley east ... and whereas default has been made in the payment of the interest due on the several sums of money above mentioned ... the said Mortgaged and described premises shall be exposed for sale and shall be sold at public vendue, to the highest bidder... the third Tuesday of September next at ten o'clock in the forenoon.
