"In Memorium.
It was a sad party of mourning friends that gathered at the little station at Crown Point, to meet the train from New York City, which bore the remains of a beloved daughter and sister. The body was accompanied by the sorrowing husband, who made the sad journey to lay her beside a sister gone many years before; also for her parents brothers and sisters to look for the last time at the loved face...Many friends gathered in the old home to pay the last tribute... Much sympathy is felt for the bereaved husband as he has to return to his desolate home alone. Hattie A. Rowley, wife of W.W. Simonds, died in New York City, August 29, 1898. She was born in St, Clair, Mich. Dec 27, 1857, the eldest daughter of George and Martha Rowley of Crown Point. She leaves to mourn her loss, husband father, mother, three sisters and three brothers."

"OBITUARY Rollin J. Cook
(From Keene, N.H. Sentinel)
Rollin J. Cook, a resident of this town for nineteen years, passed away Tuesday night, Feb. 17th, at the hospital in Westmorland, where he had been taken the Wednesday before, suffering from pneumonia. Mr. Cook had been sick about ten days. Owing to the scarcity of nurses and the bad roads for a doctor to cover, it was decided to move him to Westmorland, where everything possible was done to relieve him, but owing to a weak heart and other complications which developed, he failed to rally.
Mr. Cook was born in Ticonderoga, N.Y., Dec. 4, 1858. He married in Crown Point, N.Y., March 24, 1890, Miss Gertrude B. Rowley. Mr. and Mrs. Cook came to this town in the spring of 1901 and bought the William Bennett farm, so called, of Mr. Morrison, which overlooks Spofford Lake. They have made many friends since coming to New Hampshire and Mr. Cook is a man who will be sorely missed. He was very kind hearted, always ready to do a kind act for a neighbor or friend. This is especially true at the lake, where he had many friends among the summer people, being always ready to assist them in every way possible.
He leaves besides his wife, a brother, Carlton Cook, and a sister, Mrs. Harma French, both of Ticonderoga, N.Y."
