"Pioneer Resident of Marysville Dies
Special to the Union.
MARYSVILLE (Yuba Co.), April 2. — Thomas R. Sperry aged 84 years, a resident of Marysville since 1892, died at his home here yesterday. Sperry was an early day farmer and miner in California, having come to this state in 1853 after riding across the plains from Missouri on a mule.
In the early seventies he established a ranch a few miles below Sacramento but was washed out by high water. It was one of the first ranches in that vicinity. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ana Boss of Marysville. Sperry will be buried in Wheatland."
