"A quiet wedding took place in this village at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon when our esteemed townsman, Osmer J. Babcock, and Mrs. Irene Crumb were joined in the holy bonds. The ceremony was performed at the home of the latter by the Rev. C. H. Colegrove, in the presence of only a small company of relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Babcock went on the same afternoon to Clinton, returning to Brookfield Monday evening. They will reside in the John Fisk House on East Main Street. Both parties to the transaction are well and most favorably known here and best wishes are freely extended."
