Wedding Last Night at Groom's Home on South Cortland Road.
Miss Frances C. May, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl D. May of the South Cortland road, and Charles E. Besley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar A. Besley, also of South Cortland Road, were married last evening at 8:30 at the home of the groom's parents, the Rev. Bruce E. Pierce, pastor of the Homer Avenue Methodist Church of this city, officiating. The ceremony was conducted in an informal and simple manner, about 15 relatives and close friends of the young couple being present and the single ring service being used.
The bride was attended by her sister, Mrs. Randall Nash of Fabius, as matron of honor, while Francis Besley of Cortland, acted as best man...
Both Mr. and Mrs. Cortland attended the Cortland High School the former for some time being proprietor of "The Gables," refreshment and tea stand on the South Cortland road. For the present the young couple are making their home with the groom's parents."
