"DEATHS
Anson Rowley, 73(?), a retired farmer and a resident of Fabius nearly all his life, died Friday night at his home. He had been ill about a week with pneumonia. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Hattie L. Rowley; a son Bernard Rowley of Fabius. Funeral services were held at the family home Monday afternoon."

"Orson Rowley aged 89, Civil War veteran, died at his home east of this village, on Tuesday. The funeral was conducted Friday from M.E. Church, with Rev. Swift officiating. He is survived by one son, Giles Rowley. For a number of years Mr. Rowley took keen interest in our Memorial Day services and only last year recited a poem written on the battlefield.
Major Hunt and a number of World War veterans were in attendance."

Orren Clessen Mantle (1915 - 1982)


"Orren C. Mantle, 66, of 6940 Highbridge Road, Fayetteville, died May 23. Services will be May 26 at 2 p.m in Southeast Hills Kingdom Hall with burial in Oakwood Morningside Cemetery.
A member of Southeast Hills Congregation, of Jehovah Witnesses, Mr. Mantle lived most of his life in the Syracuse area.
He is survived by his wife, Marilynn Hofmann; a daughter, Kathleen Taft, Naperville, Ill.; a son, Stephen of Fayetteville; three brothers, Ralph and Vern, both of Harrisville, Wayne of Lowville, and Roy of Lebanon, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Geraldine Squires of Rome and Marie Mantle of Lowville; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews."

Eva Irena (Negus) McDonald (1894 - 1982)


"Mrs. McDonald
Pompey native Mrs. Eva I. McDonald, 88, formerly of Syracuse, died Thursday, December 23 in Ipswich, Mass.
Mrs. McDonald spent most of her life in Syracuse before moving to Ipswich eight years ago. She was a retired employee of Chappell's Dept. Store and a former member of First Baptist Church in Syracuse.
Surviving are a son, Donald E. McDonald of Ipswich; a brother, Hugh Negus of Syracuse; a sister Ina Paige of Shaker Heights, Ohio; three grandsons and a great granddaughter.
Services were Monday at Newell-Fay Funeral Home, Manlius. Spring burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fabius."

Cortland Snook (1908 - 1983)


Mr. Snook
Cortland Snook, 75, died May 24 at his home on Highbridge Rd., Fayetteville. Mr. Snook had lived in the Highbridge area all his life and with his brother Carlton had operated the Snook's Pond club and restaurant.
He was a member of the United Church of Fayetteville and the DeWitt Rod and Gun Club. Surviving are his wife, Marion Rowley Snook; two daughters, Nancy Mason of Live Oak, Fla., and Patricia Andrews of Fayetteville; a son, James. E. Snook of Weedsport; a sister, Josephine Crump of Old Saybrook, Conn; two brothers, Clark E. Snook of Marietta, Ga., and Carlton V. Snook of Fayetteville; 13 grandchildren, and a great grandchild.
The Rev. Charles A. Tompkins officiated the private services Thursday at Evergreen Cemetery, Fabius.
Eaton-Tubbs Funeral Home, Fayetteville handled arrangements.
Contributions may be made to DeWitt Rid and Gun Club of Onondaga County Chapter, American Cancer Society."
