Matilda (Moore) Rowley (1837 - 1916)
"Runaway Accident Fatal
Mrs. Sidney C. Rowley Dies From Injuries Received:
Kennedy, Aug. 29 — Mrs. Sidney C. Rowley died at an early hour yesterday morning as the result of internal injuries sustained in a runaway accident last Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Rowley was 79 years of age.
Mrs. Rowley was driving to Conewango Valley with her granddaughter Mrs. B.H. Rublee, and had just reached that place when the horse became frightened and started to run away. Both women were thrown from the buggy and Mrs. Rowley sustained serious internal injuries. Mrs. Rublee was not seriously injured. Mrs. Rowley was taken to the home of her granddaughter at Ellington and it was there that the death occurred.
Mrs. Rowley was an almost lifelong resident of the village of Kennedy, and a member of one of the pioneer families. Her maiden name was Matilda Moore. She is survived by her son, Ernest F. Rowley of Kennedy.
The funeral will be held from the home of B.H. Rublee at Ellington at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, the interment to be in the Ellington cemetery."

Marvin Jefferson Milks (1891 - 1925)
"Marvin Milks Died in California Marvin Milks, 34 years of age, a native of an until about three years ago a resident of Little Valley, died at Los Angeles, Calif., Monday following an operation for appendicitis, relatives are advised. Two attempts to save his life by the transfusion of blood, in one of which his wife is said to have supplied blood, were made without success.
The funeral part is expected to arrive in Salamanca at 4 o'clock Sunday morning. Ross Milks, a brother, of Gowanda, has gone to Chicago to meet the widow. The funeral will be held from the home of his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Milks of Little Valley, Sunday afternoon.
Mr. Milks was an expert piano mechanic. He served during the war, at one time testing gas masks, and is said to have been gassed twice. Failing health prompted him to go to Los Angeles where a year ago this month he married Miss Ernestine Rowley of Little Valley.
He leaves his widow, his parents, and two brothers, Ross of Gowanda and Allen G. of Little Valley."
