Betty (Burtner) Hallden (1916 - 2002)


"Betty Hallden, 86, widow of Kenneth E. Hallden, Sr., of Vero Beach, FL, died on Wednesday, (September 25, 2002) at Indian River Memorial Hospital following a prolonged illness. She was born March 10, 1916 in Tarentum, PA. In 1947 she and her family moved to Deep River, where they opened Deep River Die & Tool, Inc. of which she was secretary. She and Ken were members of Dodger Pines Country Club in Vero Beach. Surviving include son, Kenneth E., Jr. and his wife Janet of Middletown, and Vero Beach; son, David N. and his wife Margaret of Virginia Beach, VA; daughter, Judith Lundin and her husband Holger of Terryville; and son, Bruce E. and wife Victoria of Cromwell; sister, Gayle McCurdy and her husband Glenn of Natrona Heights, PA; and sister-in-law, Lauretta Burtner of Tarentum, PA. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren, including Abigail Hope Dupont who was born six hours prior to Betty's death. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held TODAY, September 28, in the Magnolia Room, at The Isles of Vero Beach, 1700 Waterford Drive, at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Fountain Hills Cemetery, Deep River, at the convenience of the family. Donations in her memory may be made to Indian River Memorial Hospital Foundation, 1000 36th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Gifford Funeral Home."
