"Gainesville. Mrs. Huldah J. Leffingwell was born Aug 27, 1829, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Glen Lathrop, at Pike Aug. 17, 1910. The funeral was held at the M. E. Church, at this place on Saturday at one o'clock conducted by Rev. W. M. Young[.] Deceased was a lifelong residence of this village. Four children survive — Mrs. Lawrence Powers of Gainesville, Mrs. William Shipman of Pike, Mrs. Nicholas Burns of Rochester and Mrs. Glen Lathrop of Pike, together with sixteen grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Among the relatives from out of town to attend the funeral were G. C. Lathrop and family, Wm. Shipman and wife, Wm. Baker and family, John Wallace and family, Seymour Russell and family of Pike; Nicholas Burns and family and Mrs[.] Percy Hubbel of Buffalo; H.B. McColl and family of Lamont; E A Powers and daughter and Geo bailey and family of Perry; Edward Reynolds of Silver Springs; [and] Alice Powers of Warsaw."

"Gainesville—William Russell an aged resident of this village, died at his home on North Main Street, Monday evening. The funeral was held from his late home Wednesday afternoon. He is survived by four children, W.D. Russell, Carrie Russell of Gainesville, Mrs. B.C. Belden of California, and Seymour Russell of Pike; and a brother, James Russell of Gainesville. Burial in Maple Grove Cemetery, Gainesville. "

Lawrence Powers (1848 - 1913)
"Lawrence Powers died June 6, 1913 at his Gainesville home following a stroke. He was born September 7, 1848 in Manchester, England coming to America with his parents at an early age.
He enlisted February 9, 1861 from Angelica in the 1st NY Dragoons, Company B. He was wounded August 10, 1864 at Newton, Va. and was discharged June 28, 1865 at Elmira. He appears on the Wyoming County Veteran list.
He married Frances Leffingwell on October 9, 1867, who survives him together with ten children; 24 grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Clooney of Java and Ella Powers of Castile. The funeral was held at the M.E.Church conducted by Rev. G.E. Morse and Rev. W.H. Smith with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery, Gainesville. Surviving children are: Mrs. John Wallace, Mrs. Isaac Stamp, Edward all of Castile, Mrs. H.B. McColl of Lamont, Fred of Texas, Wilford L. of Buffalo, Mrs. Floyd Barnard of West Valley, George A. of Gainesville, Mrs. Earl Burlingame of Warsaw, Charles J. of Falconer."

Amy Leona (Russell) Belden (1870 - 1957)
"Mrs. Burt Belden Mrs. Leona Belden, widow of the late Burt Belden, died March 8th at the home of her niece, Miss Ethel Russell in Gainesville. She has been ill for two weeks. Born April 27, 1870 in Gainesville, daughter of William and Betsy Knapp Russell she had lived in this town her entire life. Her husband, a farmer, died seven years ago but she is survived by two children, Kenneth Belden, and Mrs. Ray Kellogg both of Buffalo; a sister, Miss Carrie Russell of Gainesville; a brother, Seymour Russell of Castile and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held on Sunday, March 10th at 2:30 p.m. at the home of Miss Ethel Russell, Gainesville with the Rev. Arthur Baldeck officiating. The burial was in Maple Grove cemetery, Gainesville. Mrs.Belden was a member of the Apostolic Church, Gainesville."
