"GOLDEN WEDDING
On July 17, 1873 there occurred the marriage of William J. Shipman and Amy S. Leffingwell. On the evening of July 17, 1923 there occurred the golden wedding anniversary of the same couple at their [home] at 89 Liberty street, a reception being given by the relatives of both. The bride was dressed in white and carried a pink and white bouquet. The evening was very pleasantly spent by visiting and music by two grand daughter Iola and Luetta Baker. Ice [cream] and cake were served after which they were presented in a few well spoken works by one of the nieces, Mrs. McColl, an envelope containing twenty dollars in gold given by daughter and family...[presents and guests listed]
