"Marriage of Last April Announced at a Party.
Mrs. George Barres 204 Courtland Street entertained at her home last evening in honor of her sister, Miss Esther Rowley.
At the close of the evening a delicious luncheon was served. The tables were centered with garden flowers and ships sailing on a mirror sea which was labeled "The Sea of Matrimony". Tied to the favors were tiny scrolls announcing the marriage of Miss Rowley to Howard W. Morse at Riply, New York on April 6th, 1937.
The bride the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Rowley, wore a powder blue silk ensemble with navy blue accessories when she and Mr. Morse exchanged the vows. They were unattended.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Morse were graduated from Elyria High School. Mr. Morse attended Oberlin School of Commerce and is employed with the Braegger Auto Supply Company of Lorain. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Morse of Hillsdale Court.
They will reside at their newly furnished home on the Oberlin Road after a tour through the East.
Bunco was played last evening, the prizes being awarded to Gladys Tittle and Dorothy Rowley. Mrs. Morse was showered with lovely gifts by the guests.
Guests at the party were...Dorothy Rowley...Mrs. William Morse...Mrs. Fred Lorence, Mrs. Harold Rowley and Mrs. Minnie Wieseke [note about a dozen guests named total]"

"Post Nuptial Party:
A Post Nuptial; party complimenting her sister-in-law, was given last night in Wellington, when Mrs. Ella Morse McCullin, an August bride, entertained for Mrs. Howard Morse, whose marriage of last April was recently announced.
Friends and relatives spent the evening playing bunco, for which prizes were awarded to the honored guest and to Mrs. Fred Lorence of Wellington. A shower of miscellaneous gifts followed the games.
The hostess served refreshments at on large table, the decorations being tall tapers and autumn flowers, carried out in yellow and white motif.
Elyrians in attendance were Mrs. Minnie Wieseke, Miss Mildred Krause, Miss Violet Barres, Mrs. Harold Rowley, Miss Dorothy Rowley, Mrs. William Morse and the honored guest. Miss Hazel Dickson of Oberlin was among the guests."

"Had Shower for Her Sister:
Mrs. George Barres entertained last evening at her home on Courtland Street in honor of her sister, Miss Dorothy Rowley, who will be the bride of William Bell of Oberlin on November 4.
Bunco was played and at the conclusion prizes went to Mrs. Gilbert Kiser and Mrs. J. W. Barres.
A salad course was served at small tables which were centered with white candles tied with white ribbon. All the other appointments were carried out in pink and green.
Many lovely gifts were presented to Miss Rowley from the group which included the Mesdames Howard Morse, Glenn McMullen, Harold Rowley, Ralph Dale...Jack Barres...all of Elyria, Mrs. William Bell of Oberlin, and...as well from the hostess, Mrs. Barres."
