Harold Edwin Rowley (1885 - 1945)
Harold E. Rowley
Harold E Rowley, husband of Dorothy Rowley, died suddenly yesterday afternoon at his home, Oberlin and Murray Ridge roads at 2:30 o'clock following a heart attack. He had been ill for one and a half years.
Mr. Rowley was born in Freeport, Pa., October 9, 1865 and lived in Elyria for 40 years.
Aside from his wife, he leaves two sons and three daughters: Leroy H. Rowley of Tarrytown, N.Y., Russell E Rowley at home, Mrs. George Barres of Elyria, Mrs. Howard Morse of Oberlin Road, and Mrs. William Bell of Schramm Road; also a sister, Mrs. Herbert Church of Perry, Ohio, and eight grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Sudro-Curtis Funeral Home where services will be conducted my Dr. Homer Courtney pastor of First Methodist Church, Thursday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in South Murray Cemetery.

Dorothy Katherine (Wagner) Rowley (1885 - 1958)
"Mrs. Dorothy K. Rowley, 72, died suddenly at home in the home of her son, Russel Rowley, Spencer Township, at 11 p.m. yesterday. She was the widow of Harold E. Rowley, who died Oct. 15, 1945. Mrs. Rowley was born in Brownhelm Station February 22 1885, but lived on a farm at Oberlin Road and Murray Ridge nearly all her life. Part of the farm is now the Brookdale Cemetery. She was a member of the First Methodist Church here and a former member of Carlisle Grange. Surviving are three daughter, Mrs. Geo Barres, Mrs. Howard Morse and Mrs. Frank Kenska, all of Elyria, two sons, Leroy, Van Nuys, California, and Russel Spencer; 13 Grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Ford Biggs, Nova and Mrs. Fred Lorence, Wellington, and a brother Austin Wagner, Nova. Friends may call at the Sudro-Curtis Funeral Home where service will be Monday at 2 p.m. Dr. Earl R. Henderson, pastor of the First Methodist Church, will officiate and burial will be in South Murray Ridge Cemetery."

Frank Francis Kenska (1908 - 1983)
"Frank F. Kenska, 75, of LaPorte, died Thursday at Elyria Memorial Hospital after a 6-week illness.
Mr. Kenska was born in Elyria and was a lifelong resident. He retired in 1972 as owner/operator of Kenska Trucking Co., Elyria. He was a WWII army veteran and member of AmVets post 47 and member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Elyria.
Survived by wife of 32 years, Dorothey E. (nee Rowley), sons Richard D. Bell of Ocala, Fla., Frank J. Kenska of Big Bear City, California, Timothy R. and John A. Kenska both of Elyria; six grandchildren; sisters Margaret Fraboda, Ethel Litke; and Helen Guyeske, all of Elyria; brothers George of Lorain, and John of Wellington.

"Violet D. Barres, 76, of Elyria died Wednesday (May 10) at her home following a short illness.
A native and lifelong resident of Elyria, she was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Elyria. Mrs. Barres is survived by sons, Robert of Oberlin and Larry of Elyria, four (corrected to five in the next day's edition) grandchildren; sisters Dolly Kenska of Elyria and Esther Morse of Florida; and brothers Leroy Rowley of California and Russell Rowley of Alabama

Esther G. (Rowley) Morse (1917 - 2012)
"Esther G. Morse (nee Rowley), 94, of Venice, Florida, and formerly of Elyria, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012. She was born July 15, 1917 in Elyria and was a former member of First United Methodist Church in Elyria and Grace United Methodist Church in Venice.
Esther is survived by a son, H. William Morse of Golden, Colorado; daughter, Susanne Nikla of Sarasota, Florida; two grandsons; one granddaughter; three great-granddaughters; and a brother, Russell Rowley.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Howard in 1986; parents, Harold and Dorothy Rowley, a brother, and two sisters.
A graveside service will be Wednesday, July 18, 2012, 11 A.M., at Brookdale Cemetery in Elyria with Reverend Roger Talbott officiating.
Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Elyria, is in charge of arrangements."
