"The Honorable James Elliott Rowley '49, July 20, 2004. Judge Rowley retired to the Beaver County Court of Common Pleas as a senior judge in 1996 and remained there until the time of his death. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. After graduating from W&J, he obtained his law degree from University of Pittsburgh School of Law and began his practice alongside his father before being appointed judge in 1966. Judge Rowley was president judge of Superior Court of Pennsylvania before becoming a part of the Beaver County Court."
